Grandia II review

Reviewed January 15, 2004

asherdeus says: "The strong silent type, the kid on the run, the boy attempting to become a man -- all stereotypical character roles for RPG heroes not found in Game Art's Grandia II. Instead, you're treated to a foul-mouthed lead character, a talking bird, a naive Nun with a demon inside of her, a wise barbarian, and a delightful android, all trying to save the world while trying to get along with each other. Grandia II review

Reviewed April 14, 2004

djskittles says: "Do you want to know what’s uncommon? A decent Dreamcast RPG. Do you want to know what’s even rarer? A console RPG with a fun battle system. So many games in this genre have provided us with epic plotlines, lengthy sidequests and memorable characters, but I honestly can’t think of any off the top of my head that had enjoyable battles. Now that I’ve played Grandia II I don’t have to rack my brain thinking if such a game exists. "

pestes says: "The second RPG to hit the Dreamcast is its most anticipated. Sporting impressive visuals and an epic scope, Grandia 2 proves to be, unfortunately, a rather underwhelming experience. In spite of that, Grandia 2 is still a must have for the DC owner. "

sgreenwell says: "Grandia 2 benefits strongly from the lack of competition on the Dreamcast. It's just that simple. If Grandia 2 was on the Playstation, it would be dwarved by other, better role playing games."
