Koei Tecmo shares Dead or Alive 6 release date and pre-order bonus details

Now we know when the game will arrive and what you get if you order it near launch.

Koei Tecmo announced today that Dead or Alive 6 will launch around the world on February 15, 2019, just barely missing qualification as a sweet Valentine's Day gift for your significant other. Maybe you can go with an I.O.U. instead?

Dead or Alive 6 also will be available to pre-order digitally, and Koei Tecmo shared "first details" about that campaign, for those who were doubtlessly waiting with bated breath, hoping for some word on what they might get if they pay in advance for 1s and 0s without a disc to house them.

PlayStation 4 owners will receive a Dead or Alive 6 theme, and will obtain Nyotengu as a playable character. She is described in the press release as "the female Tengu." Xbox One owners get the same character, and also receive a costume for returning character Ryu Hayabusa.

If you purchase the game even after launch--but before March 14, 2019--you will also receive a bonus costume for Kasumi, who is basically the franchise mascot. And if you participate in the Early Purchase Bunus program on Steam, you will get that same Kasumi costume and also receive Nyotengu.

"But wait," you must be saying. "I would like to spend more money and get still more!"

Koei Tecmo hasn't forgotten you, person with still more disposable income. The Digital Deluxe version of the game for all three platforms will include "a set of 25 extra costumes, three bonus musical tracks, a DDX exclusive Kasumi costume, and an exceptional character added to the lineup, the formidable Kasumi clone, Phase 4."

You can learn more about the game and the myriad pre-order opportunities at the official site... as well as probably here at some point in the future if Koei Tecmo decides to announce sweet physical editions that I can't help but tell you about. In the meantime, enjoy the new trailer embedded above.
