Ridge Racer Unbounded Bound for a March Release
According to a recent Namco Bandai press release, Ridge Racer Unbounded will blast across the finish line and into American stores on March 6th, 2012. It's then that Ridge Racer's beloved arcade racing will find its way to Xbox 360, PS3, and PC. Namco Bandai has gone so far as to say it will be the most visceral and destructive racing game of 2012.
Lucky racers in Europe and Australia will be hitting the streets as soon as March 2nd, proving once and for all that Bugbear Entertainment, the game's Helsinki-based developer, is biased in favor of the PAL regions. Kidding aside, with the game only four months from release, racing fans in all regions should keep Ridge Racer Unbounded on their radar.
Ridge Racer Unbounded will have players tearing through the streets of the fictional city of Shatter Bay as they try to impress the leader of the city's Unbounded gang, Kara Shindo. Domination Races, one of several race types the game has to offer, take advantage of the game's unprecedented level of destruction. The only goal here is to destroy as much as possible. This includes everything from the environment to other cars. Survival Races will also make an appearance, as will their rather self-explanatory victory requirement.
Of the game, Namco Bandai's VP of Marketing, Sales and Publishing, Olivier Comte, had this to say, RIDGE RACER UNBOUNDED brings the high-octane racing that the series is known for and injects new layers of destruction and carnage to the already intense formula.
Those interested should get in the spirit by racing each other to the nearest game store to pre-order it! Just avoid causing any real world destruction on the way.
