David Jaffe must be in a giving mood due to the holidays. He announced today via the PlayStation Blog that those lucky enough to grab a copy of Twisted Metal from the game's first run at print will get a voucher including a download code for Twisted Metal: Black, the 2001 PlayStation 2 combat racer.
Black was the fifth installment in the Twisted Metal series, which has its roots in the original PlayStation era. It was developed by the now-defunct Incognito Entertainment, which last developed Warhawk for the PlayStation 3 in 2007.
Jaffe said his team is hoping the new Twisted Metal, developed by the studio he co-founded, Eat Sleep Play, will be a hit; so don't expect the first run of Twisted Metal to last long. If you want to ensure you get your hands on a Twisted Metal: Black voucher, be sure to get the game on Feb. 14, 2012, when it releases in North America and Europe. What better way is there to spend your Valentine's Day?
