Binary Land review (NES)Reviewed on June 13, 2013How did penguins and spiders even end up in the same place? |
Blaster Master review (NES)Reviewed on June 09, 2013I’ve come back to Blaster Master time and time again, and I’ve never gotten tired of it. To me, that’s the true definition of a video game classic. |
Adventure Island II review (NES)Reviewed on June 06, 2013Adventure Island II is the game Adventure Island wanted to be. The first game was only worth playing for the novelty of its unreasonable difficulty, but this one is worth playing because it’s actually good. |
Devil World review (NES)Reviewed on June 01, 2013Dante was wrong. Hell only has three levels. |
Lunar Pool review (NES)Reviewed on June 01, 2013There isn't too much more you can really say about Lunar Pool, except that it's a generally fun game. If you like pool-- or perhaps mini-golf-- then it's hard to go wrong with it, especially if you can find it cheap. It welcomes newcomers and pros alike, and for a pool game which dares to reach beyond the normal boundaries, it does its job well. |

Rad Racer review (NES)Reviewed on May 26, 2013Rad Racer isn't the greatest driving or racing game ever made, but it was a quality piece of work and it remains fun to this day. The fact that it represents the work of some of Square's finest team members before they made it big with the Final Fantasy series makes it potentially interesting for fans of that franchise, as well. |
Super Arabian review (NES)Reviewed on May 26, 2013There's nothing Super about this Arabian. |
Fuzzical Fighter review (NES)Reviewed on May 26, 2013Perhaps these two genres just weren't meant to be mashed together and that’s why they wound up feeling as compatible as the typical Hollywood relationship. |
Bucky O'Hare review (NES)Reviewed on May 25, 2013This is a game that seems to delight in making players scream in frustration, and I have better things to do with my time than engage in such a masochistic pursuit. |
G.I. Joe review (NES)Reviewed on May 25, 2013Even if you aren’t interested in the license, this is a thoroughly entertaining action game that I would recommend you experience. |
Door Door review (NES)Reviewed on May 24, 2013The mysterious little puzzle game that is secretly the reason Dragon Quest exists. |
Kabuki: Quantum Fighter review (NES)Reviewed on May 21, 2013Scott finds himself in the body of a kabuki performer that attacks with his hair. Why? It was 1990. Why not? |
Casino Kid review (NES)Reviewed on May 20, 2013Have you ever wondered what it would be like to play a poker or blackjack game that feels a lot like a JRPG in the vein of Dragon Quest or Final Fantasy? If so, you're in luck because Sofel provides exactly that in its overlooked NES classic, Casino Kid. |
Pooyan review (NES)Reviewed on May 19, 2013Pooyan is one of those games that only ends when you die, which means, whatever you do, your children will be devoured by wolves. Grim! |
10-Yard Fight review (NES)Reviewed on May 19, 201310-Yard Fight's primitive presentation and mechanics are more detrimental to the game than favorable. |
Kick Master review (NES)Reviewed on May 17, 2013With a name like Kick Master, you pretty much know exactly what you’re going to get. |
Blades of Steel review (NES)Reviewed on May 17, 2013Grab a couple controllers, a couple of drinks, and a couple of good buds and spend an evening working on that slapshot. You won’t regret it. |
Lemmings review (NES)Reviewed on May 17, 2013There are only so many times you can listen to the Can-Can while your precious lemmings are murdered. |
Lunar Pool review (NES)Reviewed on May 16, 2013As a billiards video game released in 1987, Lunar Pool must have served as a respectable simulation for what it was trying to accomplish. Today however, the game feels more like a puzzle game by bombarding players with rather strange looking tables with portals to pocket balls into. The majority of players may brush off the game as hard or antiquated. Others however, may find a long and challenging puzzle game wrapped around the rules of pool. |

Astro Robo Sasa review (NES)Reviewed on May 12, 2013Flying with weapon recoil is an interesting idea that has now been used and never needs to be revisited. Thanks, Astro Robo Sasa. |
